Hi! I'm Elliott Estrine, owner of Magic Touch Productions and editor and developer of the
Indie Promos on-line magazine. I started this website ten years ago after I attended the San Diego World Film Festival.
I’ve always loved film, but until that festival had never seen an indie or met a filmmaker. After
the festival, I wondered what I could do to help filmmakers promote their films. The idea for
this site came to me on the freeway about a week later.
My first loves are film, classical music and the theatre. I am a long time
supporter of the performing arts in San Diego and am very active in the San Diego
community. I've served on the Friends for UCSD Theater Committee for 12 years. I
love public speaking and am Advanced Toastmaster Silver.
I love learning and going to school. In 2005 I graduated from San Diego State University with a Masters degree in Communication,
majoring in Mass Communication and Media Studies with a focus on film studies. I also hold Masters degrees in Computer Science and Electrical
Engineering from the University of Southern California and professional
certificates in marketing communications and photography from the University of California at San Diego.
I also have a passion for fast cars. I've built and been involved with
racing cars at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah for 48 years. While I don't
currently own a race car, I am webmaster for the
Never Fast Enough Movie website
I also assist with timing and communications for the Bonneville National Speed
Trials which are held on August each year. I have just completed my first documentary short, "Who Needs Balls" about 18 women racing cars and motorcycles at the Salt Flats.
