Cinema at Sea Cruise

The inaugural Cinema at Sea Cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Legend of the Seas was a film lovers dream come true. During our three days at sea, we viewed four films by producer/director/actor Paul Mazursky including: Down and Out in Beverly Hills (1986), Moon Over Parador (1988), Moscow on the Hudson (1984), and Harry and Tonto (1974), all timeless, and as applicable today as when they were first shown. We were honored to have Mr. Mazursky and his lovely wife Betsy on board ship for the entire cruise. Paul introduced each film before it was screened and did a Q & A after each screening.

The Royal Caribbean Legend of the Seas docked in San Diego

Over 100 members and friends from the Cinema Society of San Diego and about 1900 others, cruised on this beautiful ship from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas to Mazatlan to Puerto Vallarta and back to San Diego in seven days.

This delightful couple has been married for 51 years. I was privileged to share a dinner table with Paul and Betsy on six nights of the cruise. Paul is a great storyteller, and has some wonderful stories to tell, many which he relates in his book Show Me the Magic.

As a bonus, each member of the Cinema Society recieved a copy of Paul's book. He autographed copies of the book at a special party in his honor.
